One year ago last night, Mikey and I came home with our baby girl, had a moment in the living room as a family of three, and began our new life.
And what a great life! One year into it, it gets better and better every day. On Saturday and Sunday we celebrated this fact as we celebrated our one-year-old Katie Pearl. A birthday photo essay …
- LOVE this “happy birthday” banner I found on etsy.com
- fascinated by her balloons
- pre-gaming on some cheerios before the party
- kp’s smash cake, celebrating her most favorite part of the day: bath time
- one cake for the birthday girl and one for everybody else to share … sounds about right
- things started off clean enough
- she ate every single marshmellow “bubble” before digging into the rest of the cake
- … then she picked it up and ate it like a cheeseburger
- all in all, i’ve seen worse messes
- once she gets over being terrified of them, kp loves her cousins
- breakfast on her actual birthday morning … poor leftover balloons
- eating like the princess she knows she is
- you gotta OWN the birthday tutu to pull it off
- scooter: best toy ever in kp’s mind
- contemplating the best matrix by which to arrange her new letter magnets
